Where is my mind?

July 25, 2008

I’ve had a couple of weird dreams recently. In one of them I bought a packet of cigarettes, but eventually decided to throw them away unopened. In another, the damn mouse was back (there were actually several mice that found their way into my flat last year, but I still kind of think of them as one mouse).

In other news my sleep patterns are completely screwed, but in a different way to uusual. They’re fairly stable, but I’m not getting very much sleep. This as a couple of other things makes me wonder if I might perhaps be a little on the hypomanic side. Within a few days of starting to volunteer I’d taken on a kind of ambitious project. It’s difficult to concentrate, but because there’s so many different things worth thinking about. I’m buying stuff, wearing clothes that are kind of, uh, brighter than I’d normally choose (since almost all my clothes are grey and black this isn’t very difficult.) And, well, I ended up clearing up my shelf of many things that’s been horribly untidy for the last year. My DVD’s are now nicely stacked and the books I might actually have some interest in re-reading aren’t in a box below the shelf now.

I feel good but sometimes astoudingly bored.

Ah well.

Hi, I'm James. I'm a 26 year old guy from England with bipolar disorder (currently well controlled). I also have a circadian rhythm sleep disorder (not so well controlled). This blog has charted my journey from mental illness, through diagnosis and, recently, into recovery. It's not always easy, but then, what is?

Self-righteous note about smoking

As of 12th September 2008 it has been forty five weeks since I quit smoking. So in another seven weeks it'll have been a whole year.
