So, I slept for about 4 hours, between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. I have to be hideously exhausted to sleep during the day. I’ve never been one for naps. The mental processes going on as I fall asleep go something like:

Hmmm. Odd. I don’t seem to be able to concentrate on reading now. I’ll just put my book down for a moment.

And I feel all dizzy and kind of achy sitting up. Maybe I’ll just lie down for a moment. Got to be careful though, don’t want to drop off.

That’s better. I’m OK. Not going to sleep. Just resting for a moment. Not like I’m closing my eyes or anything…

*blink* *blink* *bli—* Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…..

I had a rather bizarre dream, which I won’t go into here, and woke up thinking:

*-nk* Oh. Shit.

Is there any point in pretending I’m sticking to the sleep regime any more?

Hi, I'm James. I'm a 26 year old guy from England with bipolar disorder (currently well controlled). I also have a circadian rhythm sleep disorder (not so well controlled). This blog has charted my journey from mental illness, through diagnosis and, recently, into recovery. It's not always easy, but then, what is?

Self-righteous note about smoking

As of 12th September 2008 it has been forty five weeks since I quit smoking. So in another seven weeks it'll have been a whole year.
