Still Alive

I can’t believe it’s been a week since my last post. I’m still alive. My GP has annoyed me by not calling me when my blood-test results were in, leaving me to chase them up and schedule the appointment at which my GP should prescribe me lamotrigine. Given that I’ve already come off the previous medication I was on, this seems a tiny bit lacksidaisical to me. But never mind.

I’ve been feeling kind of down in a quiet kind of way. It’s not been too bad. I saw Rob on Wednesday, eat some food and had a pint. And a friend of mine from university is in town today, so I’ll be going out for some food with her later on. This has meant I’ve actually made an effort with my appearance today, beyond the shower-and-cleanish-clothes I usually manage when I see people like my therapist. Rob’s birthday is in a week and we’re both going to it, but since she’s here anyway.

But despite this sudden spike of sociability, I’m still fairly blah. Still, it’s nice to be blah in company for once.

Hi, I'm James. I'm a 26 year old guy from England with bipolar disorder (currently well controlled). I also have a circadian rhythm sleep disorder (not so well controlled). This blog has charted my journey from mental illness, through diagnosis and, recently, into recovery. It's not always easy, but then, what is?

Self-righteous note about smoking

As of 12th September 2008 it has been forty five weeks since I quit smoking. So in another seven weeks it'll have been a whole year.
